Transfer speculation about Radamel Falcao began to build up after the Colombian was withdrawn from Monaco's squad to play Lille on Saturday.
Early on Saturday Falcao's social media accounts on Twitter and Instagram began to follow Arsenal and Manchester City players, leading the Monaco striker to be linked with both English clubs.
Later in the day a tweet that supposedly came from Falcao's official account said, "Sueno realidad #HalaMadrid Drame come true #HalaMadrid."
However the tweet was deleted minutes later, though many users began to show screengrabs.
Of course many believed that Falcao's account had been hacked, or that the tweet was fake.
However Real Madrid have been favourites to sign the player all season, with a possible loan on the cards, and Falcao may just have jumped the gun.
With the transfer window set to close in a couple of days, Falcao's destination will be revealed sooner rather than later.
