Queens Park Rangers are set to launch a reported £5m bid for Everton striker Nikica Jelavic.
The Championship title chasers are currently in third place but have struggled to score all season, only getting on the score-sheet 26 times in 24 games played.
This coupled with the fact that Jelavic will be looking for game time leading up to the World Cup later this year, after the Croatian striker fell down the pecking order at Everton since the arrival of Romelu Lukaku at Goodison Park.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has admitted to QPR’s interest in the former Glasgow Rangers player and also stated that Jelavic will be allowed to move on a permanent deal and not out on loan.
“QPR have asked about him,” the Toffee’s boss admitted.
“I’m sure he knows about it, because, these days, the players are the first to find out.”
“He will never go out on loan, but he needs to play to go to the World Cup, so if he is allowed to move, it will be out of respect for his career and what he has done for us.”
