Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director Leonardo insists that the Ligue 1 leaders have not held talks with Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole over a possible move.
The England international’s current contract is due to run out in the off-season and much has been made of the Blues’ apparent unwillingness to offer Cole and Frank Lampard new deals.
Interim Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez indicated in a press conference held early after his appointment that the Stamford Bridge outfit may have no place for the two veteran players come next season.
It has fuelled speculation that PSG may try and reunite Cole with former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti at the Parc de Princes.
"We have never spoken with Ashley Cole, there has never been any contact," Leonardo told reporters.
"Carlo was his coach at Chelsea, that's why that story is doing the rounds."
The PSG chief was also quick to rule out any approach for Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder whose time at the Italian club could be over after he refused a deal at reduced wages.
"Sincerely, we have never contacted Wesley Sneijder to come to PSG," Leonardo said.
"We have five players in his position already."
