Pep Unveiled By Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich have officially unveiled their new manager, former Barcelona record breaker, Pep Guardiola.

The football world is excited to see if likable Catalan touchline prowler Guardiola can pick up at Bayern where he left off at Barca.

The dapper 42-year-old won a gobsmacking 14 trophies in just four years at the helm at the Camp Nou, and inherits another team of superstars, with a Treble season to their name and expensive, cherry-picked new team-mates already on the way.

Guardiola spoke at his first Bayern press conference on Monday, and said he was looking forward to cementing Bayern as the best club in Germany and Europe, and carving out another golden era for the illustrious Bavarian giants.

“What I feel now is a gift, a blessing to be here to be with Bayern and the very thought about me as the coach is a gift," Guardiola told a pack press room at the Allianz Arena, where the assembled hacks hung on his every utterance.

"Sometimes you take over a team on the way down... like in my first year as professional coach," he continued.

"This situation is completely different. It is a good thing it is different. I take over a team that played exceptionally in the last season. They won three titles. This is the situation. When you are Bayern coach you a always have pressure to play well."

It is incredible to think that the man Guardiola has replaced, Jupp Heynckes, led Bayern to their best ever trophy haul as recently as May.

And so in spite of his own stunning track record, in a sense, Guardiola is stepping into a massive pair of shoes.

“I must accept the comparison [with Hyenckes]," Guardiola said.

"I have to be able to live with that. I am under pressure, of course, but I know this and I accept this challenge without fear and that is why I am the coach.”
