Pellegrini: We Missed Aguero And Fernandinho

Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini, was left frustrated after his side’s first home defeat this season and said, without Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho, it was always going to be a difficult match.

The Chilean also bemoaned the missed chances of the home side, who only managed to get three of their 25 shots on target.

"We had clear chances to score at least two goals but didn't do it, and they had two or three shots against the post," Pellegrini said after the match.

"It was a very close game to play against Chelsea without (Sergio) Aguero and Fernandinho.

"It's important to note that we were missing them, also Nasri and Javi Garcia. We had to change the midfield.

However, with his side still only sitting two points behind log leaders Arsenal and point level with Chelsea, Pellegrini tried to play down the significance of the defeat.

"It was an important game but we'll continue and we'll see. We're just two points behind Arsenal," he added.

"For Chelsea it was a decisive game, not for us.

"If we won we were six points ahead of them. Now we are two points behind Arsenal. We have 39 points to play for.

"Nobody is thinking about records, we are just thinking about winning the games."

Is the title still City’s to lose or did the defeat show they are not as good as everybody thought? Have your say in the comment section below.
