Pedro says Barcelona target Neymar "deserves to play in the best team in the world".
Neymar, regarded as one of the hottest talents in world football, is contracted to Brazilian side Santos until 2014.
The 20-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a host of top clubs, including Barca.
Pedro, while respectful of Neymar's qualities, feels ability alone is no guarantee of success at Camp Nou.
Nevertheless, he believes Neymar has earned the chance to represent the La Liga leaders.
"We know he can play here. But you never know if he can fit with the team," Pedro told Cope.
"What is known is that he is one of the best in the world and deserves to play in the best team in the world."
Pedro also commented on the Blaugrana's 16-point buffer on Spanish champions Real Madrid in the standings.
"We have a good distance in the league," he continued. "We have a lot of points to spare, but we will try to not reduce that distance.
"The team will continue with the same ambition as usual.
"Seeing Tito [Vilanova, Barcelona coach] lead the team is the greatest joy possible for us," he added. "I hope he's on the bench this Sunday [against Espanyol] as that's important for us."
