Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is an injury doubt for the Gunners’ weekend Premier League fixture against Norwich.
The Canaries visit the Emirates on Saturday, and they will be singing a joyous song if Ozil is not in Arsenal’s line-up to torment them.
The Real Madrid reject has been in storming form so far this season, slotting seamlessly into the Gunners midfield, to give them additional class, poise and attacking threat.
He has also excelled for Germany, helping them to top their group en route to direct qualification for next year’s World Cup in Brazil.
But with the group already won, Arsenal have been left cursing that Ozil played for Germany against Sweden on Tuesday night.
Yet again the wiry schemer was on fire, and helped spur Germany back from two goals down, in a thrilling 5-3 victory.
But worryingly for the Gunners, Ozil took a knock with less than 10 minutes of the game to go, and was forced off the field.
He was replaced by Julian Draxler, and immediately limped down the tunnel for treatment.
The Germany camp is yet to comment on the extent or nature of Ozil’s injury. And Arsenal will be holding their breath as they wait to assess their record signing with their own medical staff later on Wednesday.
