A single goal from David Owino handed Kenya a 1-0 win over Namibia in their final Group F 2014 World Cup qualifier at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi on Sunday.
The game had little bearing on the qualifying group as neither team stood a chance of progressing to the next stage.
However, the win for Kenya was only their second in the qualifying group and allowed them to avoid the wooden spoon in the group as they finished third on six points.
Namibia, on the other hand, finished bottom of Group F with five points form their six qualifying games.
In a game that both teams were playing for pride neither really put up a good showing as chances on goal were few and far between, and when either team did manage to create an opening their finishing was poor.
Nonetheless, the game got off to an extremely positive start as Kenya found the back of the net as early as the fifth minute courtesy of an Owino goal, 1-0.
After that, however, the game was a rather dull affair with very little goal mouth action.
Neither team could really fashion any more decent chances on goal as the game was congested to the middle of the park.
The match ended 1-0 in favour of the home side who managed to salvage some pride as both teams exited the qualifying stages for Brazil 2014.
