Glasgow Celtic have ruled out a deadline day departure for Victor Wanyama.
The in-demand Kenyan international midfielder has been linked to a host of English Premier League teams, after a season and a half of increasingly impressive performances for the Hoops.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs have all been credited with interest in Wanyama, but Manchester United were considered close to making a bid for him, after Alex Ferguson travelled to watch him in action.
However, 21-year-old Wanyama has confirmed that he will not be leaving Celtic before the end of the season.
Instead, he will stay to help them try and battle their way into the latter stages of the Uefa Champions League, which he lit up with his group stage displays against Barcelona.
"I can confirm to you that I will be at Celtic," Wanyama told the Daily Record.
"We are playing well and our Champions League dream is on right now, so I am looking forward to the big game against Juventus.
"A lot has been said about my intended move but I have not given it much thought and even my manager feels I should play until the end of the season for Celtic.
"Then, from that point, the doors can be open for a move."
