Sevilla and Spain star, Jesus Navas, has seemingly overcome his tendency towards homesickness.
The 27-year-old winger has long been on the wish list of top teams across Europe, but has never been brave enough to venture away from his Seville comfort zone.
Allegedly wanted by Manchester City, Navas now says that he is excited by the prospect of trying another league on for size.
Sevilla are not especially keen to sell Navas, but the declining Spanish economy has hit the club hard, and they may have no choice but to cash in on one of their most valuable assets.
Navas, one of the few remaining traditional wingers, would make the starting line-up of most top teams, and his willingness to move will put Europe on red alert.
“You can be excited when you are there and you dream, but we are going to wait until the season ends and for summer to come to see what happens,” Navas told La Sexta, regarding the speculation that he is set for a big money move.
“We would have to see if both clubs could come to an agreement.
“I am ready for anything.”
Regarding the specific link to City, Navas says that he would like the chance to work under Manuel Pellegrini, who is widely expected to be the manager at the Etihad next season.
“Pellegrini is a coach who has given a lot in every place he has been, with very nice football,” he said.
“He looks like a great person.”
