New Barcelona superstar Neymar has met his club-mates for the first time.
All of Barca’s international players have reported for duty, and the club has a full compliment of first-team hopefuls back in time for their friendly against Santos on Friday.
Brazil sensation Neymar will play his first game for the Spanish champions against his former team, following his big-money move at the end of last season.
The money-spinning match was probably part of the deal Barca agreed with Santos when they secretly signed Neymar on a pre-contract almost one year ago.
Monday has been a big day for the Blaugrana, after new manager Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino met the squad for the first time, and gave his inaugural team-talk.
Thereafter, the returning internationals retired to Barca’s training centre, where they underwent their pre-season medicals.
Now that Neymar has arrived ahead of the new La Liga season, the hype is set to kick into overdrive.
First will come the anticipation at seeing him turn out for the Spanish giants for the first time, in an emotional farewell to Santos on Friday.
And then will come the match-by-match evaluation of Neymar’s potentially spectacular, and highly anticipated attacking partnership with his fellow Camp Nou superstar, Lionel Messi.
Will Neymar flop or fly at Barcelona?
