Barcelona hot shot Neymar is missing his fellow South American Blaugrana star Lionel Messi.
La Pulga Atomica is not expected to play again this season as he recuperates from yet another niggling hamstring injury.
In his absence, Barcelona slumped to their first defeat of the season against Ajax Amsterdam this week, and Neymar is beginning to pine for Messi’s return.
Without Messi to vex the Ajax back line, Neymar was easily marginalised by the Dutch team’s defence.
And he says that he and his team-mates are hyper aware that the little Argentine is missing.
"The team is sad because Leo is one of the basic parts of this team,” Neymar told Mundo Leo.
“We know that he can change a game in our favour at any moment.
"I hope he recovers and starts playing again as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, Neymar has revealed that playing for Barca means the realisation of a lifelong ambition.
The former Santos star was courted by a who’s who of top European clubs before inking his deal at the Camp Nou.
But he says that as soon as Barca showed their interest, there was only ever bound to be one final destination for him.
"I have always admired FC Barcelona, ever since the days of Ronaldinho, and even more so now that I am playing alongside Messi, Xavi and Iniesta", he said.
"I had always dreamed of playing with such stars as them, to train with them, to share a dressing room with them … Being there is like being in another world."
