Real Madrid’s new striker, Javier Hernandez, has described his loan move to the club as “a dream come true.”
The Mexican spoke to the press after being presented with the number 14 jersey, following his transfer from Manchester United.
"I’ve come here to belong to Real Madrid and I’m delighted to be at this club.” Hernandez told the Real Madrid’s official website.
“I always try to lead my life with a lot of objectives and goals and I’m here to give everything, both on and off the pitch, and to help this team to be as or more successful than it is.”
“I’m a Real Madrid player. I accepted as soon as I knew there was interest in me and I hope to do as well as possible.”
The player known affectionately as 'Chicharito' then described the move as the fulfilment of a dream, moving on to say that he was grateful to get the chance to join a team of Madrid’s quality.
“It is a dream. Being able to represent this club is a dream come true. Every player knows what Real Madrid represents and it is an honour to be here," he added.
“I'll enjoy myself and in my head, mind and heart I'm totally grateful for being given the opportunity to be a part of this squad alongside the best in the world."
He concluded the interview by describing himself as a fan of Real Madrid and commenting on the club’s popularity in his home country.
“I’m a Real Madrid fan, of course. In Mexico you keep an eye on Europe and there is nobody that hasn’t seen a Real Madrid match. I’m delighted and I’m going to wear this shirt to win titles.”
Javier Hernandez made 154 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions, scoring 59 goals in the process.
