Speaking after their 2-1 win over West Ham in the English Premier League on Saturday, Manchester United manager David Moyes expresses his relief in getting the three points at home.
United had lost their last two league games at home to Everton (1-0) and Newcastle United (1-0), but goals from Danny Welbeck, Adnan Januzaj and Ashley Young saw them back to winning ways in front of their home fans.
The result saw United up to seventh on the league table, still a massive eight points behind the league leaders Liverpool, but Moyes was more than happy to pick up the win.
“We played well today and on another day we might have scored more, but overall I am really pleased with how we played,” said Moyes.
“I thought we had enough of the ball before the opening goal and it was certainly coming. But, the first one was a really good piece of forward play between Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck and it's good to see Danny scoring another goal.”
Moyes was also full of praise for youngster Adnan Januzaj who scored United’s second goal.
“Everyone can see the talent the boy [Januzaj] has got,” added Moyes.
“He scored a really good goal, he's got composure and he's got really good feet and once again he did really well today.
“He's making big steps because he is only 18 and he's had a lot of games but I think he's warranted a place. He's creative and can beat people and we want as many of those players at Manchester United as we can.”
