Mourinho Wants To Stay 12 Years

Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, said he would like to stay long-term at Stamford Bridge and then take a national team to the World Cup 2026.

He wants to stay for 12 years at Chelsea and bring some stability to the Blues, but knows this also depends on a mind shift of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who is well-known to become quickly impatient with his managers.

“I’m 51 next month. I’d say 12 years, and then two years to go to a World Cup with a national team,” Mourinho said.

“I’d prefer the Portuguese national team. Would England be second? Yes.

“Realistically, I hope at the end of my four years we sit, analyse the situation and that will be the point where we are both – club and me – happy to carry on or happy to separate. ”

But to stay on Abramovich's good cards the Chelsea manager quickly has to sort out his strike problem, which he claims to be the reason for Chelsea not being on top of the log.

Mourinho also revealed that he joined Chelsea because he wanted to and his decision to return to Stamford Bridge to oversee a squad rebuilding project for a less lucrative contract is confirmation he is seeking stability.

“I left Real Madrid because I wanted to, not because they wanted me to,” Mourinho added.

“If it was for financial reasons, I wouldn’t be here getting a lot less money than I had at Real Madrid, where I had three more years on my contract.”

Mourinho, who hasn’t lost in nine years against Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger, also says that the two managers are on better terms then during his first spell when he called his counterpart a “voyeur” after the Frenchman made several comments about Chelsea.

“He was speaking about Chelsea all the time, always making jibes and criticism, and the money and this and that…it was too much.”

However, Mourinho has no regrets about the blast and says that Wenger is quiet and only focused on Arsenal this time. Nowadays, the two managers have a lot of respect for each other.

“I don’t regret it. These are football fall-outs, not personal fall-outs. Football fall-outs you have today and forget tomorrow.

“At this moment he’s totally focused on his team and his club. Peacefully, we are living without any kind of problems.

“I’m not friends with him, because to be friends you need to be close and time to develop that relationship, but we have a lot of respect.”
