Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, believes Eden Hazard is currently the best young player in the world and deserves more recognition for his recent form.
Hazard scored a hat-trick in Chelsea’s 3-0 over Newcastle on Saturday, days after the Belgium international impressed in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Manchester City.
The victory ensured Chelsea moved to the top of the Premier League, with Arsenal losing 5-1 against Liverpool and Manchester City held to a goalless draw by Norwich.
After another fine display, Mourinho believes it’s time for Hazard to get rewarded for his recent good form.
“Maybe with the hat-trick he has the chance to win one day the player of the month,” the manager said.
“Because he never gets that. I would like my guy to win it once, so please do something. Help me.
“I think a team is made of 11 guys, but obviously he is special.
“I think in this moment he’s the best young player in the world.”
The 23-year-old himself says he dreams about winning the title this season, despite his manager insisting the Blues are no title favourites.
“Top of the league. I go in my bed, I dream. I hope at the end of the season it will be the same.
“It’s a pleasure to play for this team and to work for that.”
Chelsea now play at struggling West Brom on Tuesday, before they travel again to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City in the FA Cup.
