Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, would accept a Champions League trip to “hell” in order to face Galatasaray and Ivorian striker Didier Drogba.
In their final group match against Steaua, Chelsea didn’t have any problems progressing to the last-16. The 1-0 victory, however, was overshadowed by a laser pen attack on Mourinho and a few of his players.
As group leaders Chelsea can face Bayer Leverkusen, Olympiacos, Zenit St Petersburg and AC Milan, but Mourinho favours Drogba’s Galatasaray.
The Chelsea manager told Chelsea TV: "It would be very difficult, especially in Galatasaray. It's hell.
"It's very difficult to play there. I played there last season with Real.
"But I think Didier deserves to come here and to feel the passion and the respect. I would love that. Bring the king back to Stamford Bridge."
Chelsea have struggled to adequately replace Drogba, who scored 157 goals in 341 appearances for The Blues. His final act before leaving Stamford Bridge was equalising against Bayern Munich and netting the decisive penalty in the 2012 Champions League final at Munich’s own doorstep.
In yesterday’s win over Steaua, Demba Ba was deployed up front and scored the winning goal but Mourinho was more concerned with the chances the Senegal striker has missed (once again).
"He got his goal, it's a good feeling for him. He never played in the Champions League before; this is the first season he has played.
"And he has two goals in the Champions League, which is nice for him. More goals in the Champions League than in the Premier League."
Chelsea are continuously linked with Man United striker, Wayne Rooney, and could do with a nailed on striker like ‘king’ Drogba.
Before Monday’s Champions League draw, Chelsea's focus returns to the Premier League. On Saturday The Blues face Kagisho Dikgacoi’s Crystal Palace at home.
Mourinho will be hoping his side can bounce back from last weekend's loss at Stoke and recover momentum ahead of the London derby, at the Emirates just before Christmas.
