Swansea are used to losing their managers as soon as they achieve success. Brendan Rodgers followed Roberto Martinez out the door to greener pastures.
But the Swans’ Spanish star Michu says he hopes that the club’s current boss, Michael Laudrup, is not tempted away.
Danish legend Laudrup has been linked to a host of top management jobs of late, including the Real Madrid hot-seat. He has also pointedly refused to speculate as to where his football future lies.
Michu certainly hopes Laudrup’s future lies at the Liberty Stadium, and that leading the Swans into the Europa League next season will be enough of a challenge to keep him there.
"The gaffer here has done great in his first season, but I have gone up to Michael and said, 'Stay with us now we are in Europe' said Michu- Laudrup’s first and most successful Swansea signing.
"I know other people will want him. He is really good, doing really well and maybe he can go with another club, but I hope he will stay here.
"We are growing up really fast and it is always difficult for a club of our size to win a trophy, but I think now we are going to play in Europe we can bring in some very good players and can be a stronger team next season."
