Reports in the international football media claim that Red Devils scout, Jimmy Lumsden, was at the Westfalenstadion to watch Reus in action against Napoli in the Champions League this week.
If he was there to watch Reus, the scout was surely impressed by the left-sided playmaker’s impressive display in Dortmund’s 3-1 win.
United manager David Moyes contemplated bids for, or tried to sign, all of Cesc Fabregas, Sami Khedira, Daniele De Rossi and Ander Herrera before this season.
He has deployed Adnan Januzaj, Ashley Young, Danny Welbeck, Nani and Shinji Kagawa in Reus’ preferred left-sided position so far during the current campaign, and his interest in the German suggests Moyes is not yet happy with his left flank.
Reus has scored nine goals for Dortmund already this season, more than all of United’s midfielders put together.
And it would be a major coup if the English champions were to lure 24-year-old Reus to Old Trafford.
