Italian champions, Juventus, have reportedly expressed interest in signing Real Madrid left back, Marcelo, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport.
Juventus will be looking to replace Ghana international Kwadwo Asamoah, who started in the left back position for the Vecchia Signora last season.
Marcelo's contract with Real Madrid runs until June 2018, though, which could pose a problem for Juventus in trying to make a deal. He is valued at €15 million (R 219 million).
If Marcelo is unattainable, Juventus' second option will be Barcelona’s Adriano Correia, who has yet to establish himself as a regular at the Blaugrana.
Meanwhile, Fabio Coentrao, Marcelo's main competition at left back for Real Madrid, is close to signing a new five-year deal for Los Blancos.
This could encourage Marcelo to look for a move away from the reigning European champions in search of more job security.
