Roberto Mancini is in talks to take over the manager’s job at Turkish giants, Galatasaray.
The Italian was sacked by Manchester City in May, despite leading them to three trophies in as many seasons at the club.
Immediately after his dismissal, Mancini was linked to Serie A clubs Inter Milan and Napoli, but he remains out of work.
However, Galatasaray have now confirmed that the Serie A and English Premier League winning manager is in talks to replace Fatih Terim in the Istanbul hot-seat.
"President Unal Aysal and chief executive Lutfi Aribogan have met with Roberto Mancini," the club said in a statement on their website, accompanied by a photograph of the inscrutable Italian.
Club legend Terim was sacked earlier this month, after he refused the offer of a contract extension.
He remains the coach of the Turkish national team.
If he takes over at Gala, Mancini will get another crack at the Champions League.
His failure to progress deep into the competition was the final nail in his coffin at City, and he would love to prove his mettle on the European stage with another Champions League team.
