Manchester United will reportedly turn their attention to Juventus midfielder, Arturo Vidal, after completing a deal for Angel Di Maria.
The club has been interested in bringing the Chilean to Old Trafford all summer, despite officially denying it, saying that speculation has risen entirely from the player’s camp.
Several sources have repeatedly claimed that United’s interest is legitimate and now it would appear that the English club will finally act upon their interest and make an official move for Vidal.
After United’s draw to Sunderland this weekend, Louis Van Gaal stated that he “likes” Vidal, but said the same about Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, which makes it seem that he was simply dropping names.
Even though Van Gaal has expressed concerns over Vidal’s fitness, he is now pushing the club to finalize a deal for him and it is believed that Juventus will ask for £45 million in exchange for Vidal’s services to appease fans and maintaining the club’s image.
It is reported that Juventus will reinvest the money by making a move for Monaco’s Radamel Falcao and that they have set United a deadline for Friday to make their move.
However, United may push the deal right up until the transfer deadline day on Sunday and will also make a move for Ajax’s Daley Blind, who has played for Louis Van Gaal in the Dutch national team.
Ed Woodward will also be keen to finalize a deal in order to save face after promising fans an excellent transfer window in the middle of this summer period.
Vidal has made 117 official appearances for Juventus and has scored 38 goals, as well as providing 18 assists.
