Manchester United and Real Madrid have both announced that Javier Hernandez has joined the Los Blancos on a season-long loan deal.
The 26-year-old striker will join Real for one season, with a purchase option estimated to be around €22 million.
“Real Madrid C. F. and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the loan of Javier Hernández, who will be at the club throughout this season,” read an official statement on the club’s website.
Hernandez will be presented before the media in the Santiago Bernabéu press room today at 16:30.
Chicharito joins the Los Blancos after long-term target, Radamel Falcao, is set to sign for Manchester United.
The Mexican has scored 59 goals in 154 appearances at Old Trafford but never managed to claim regular first-team football.
At Bernabeu, he will be the back-up for Karim Benzema after starlet Alvaro Morata had left the club this summer.
