Manchester United were on song as they sailed past fellow Premier League outfit Fulham 4-1 in their FA Cup fourth-round tie at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The hosts wasted little time in taking the lead as veteran Ryan Giggs slotted a penalty in the third minute.
Wayne Rooney made it 2-0 after the break and Javier Hernandez netted a brace to secure the win before Aaron Hughes' consolation strike.
United started the game with intensity and deservedly took the lead via the penalty spot after Hughes handled a corner kick in the area shortly after the kick-off.
The home side continued to dominate but their second goal had to wait for the second half. Anderson provided the classy through-ball and Rooney did the rest as he twisted and turned before finding the back of the net.
Two minutes later the Red Devils were three goals clear. A ball into the Cottagers' area found Hernandez with ease and the forward only needed to tap in from close range.
The goals kept coming in the 66th minute as Chicharito completed his double. He turned well in the area to give himself room before his shot found the target via a fortunate deflection.
Hughes made up for his penalty giveaway by scoring Fulham's only goal in the 77th minute. The defender rose high to head home a corner kick at the near post.
