Lazio midfielder Senad Lulic admits that his strike in their 1-0 win over AS Roma in the Coppa Italia final was the most important goal of his career.
The 27-year-old scored late on for Vladimir Petkovic's men as they secured European football due to the victory and Lulic dedicated the strike to his family.
“It is certainly the most important goal of my career and this win will never be forgotten. To score the winner in a Coppa Italia final against Roma is just incredible,” he told RAI Sport after the match.
“I don’t know if a fixture like this will ever happen again. I dedicate the goal to my wife, who is expecting our child.”
Striker Miroslav Klose also admitted that it was a special feeling to secure victory in such a big game.
“I think this is different to anything else in my career," he enthused. "When you see these fans and the staff working behind the scenes all year, we have to thank them.
“You play football to get something in your hands and so it was important to lift the trophy. We worked all year and this was the result.
“I think we put in a great performance, though Roma were also strong and fought hard. I’m happy we won at the end.”
