Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez, has denied talks that he will join Real Madrid in the summer.
The Premier League Golden Boot winner has been linked with a big-money move to the Los Blancos, who are reportedly keen to sign the Uruguay international.
However, Suarez has just recently extended his contract with Liverpool and revealed the agreement doesn’t include any clause that he can leave for Real.
"I don't pay any attention to those stories; I'm under contract with Liverpool. When I read that Real want to sign me, I turn the page: it's just speculation,” he said during an interview as quoted by several media.
“I'm focused on the World Cup and I'm not thinking about the speculation.
“I know what I want and what my agent says is good for me, but I don’t want to comment on speculation.
“I didn’t sign any contract with clauses prioritising a certain team.”
When asked about his favourites to win the World Cup he responded: “Argentina, because they have great players and they arrive in a good moment, but we can’t ignore Uruguay, Spain, England or Germany, because a World Cup is a competition in which everyone wants to have success.”
His 31 goals are as many as Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in La Liga this season and if the Portuguese would fail to score in Real’s final league game, both players would win Europe’s Golden Boot.
"I'm proud to be competing with players of the level of Cristiano, Messi and Diego Costa,” Suarez added.
“It (winning the European Golden Shoe) wasn't my objective at the beginning of the season but now I say, ‘I hope Cristiano doesn't score more goals.’”
