Manchester United boss, Louis van Gaal, reportedly gets more and more frustrated with the club’s inability to close transfers.
According to ESPN, the Dutchman ‘is getting increasingly impatient about the lack of transfer activity’ and was particularly ‘agitated’ by the club’s failure to sign Thomas Vermaelen.
United’s new signings, Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera, arrived before Van Gaal officially took over and the players the 63-year-old wants have not yet come in.
The Red Devils start their new season against Swansea on Saturday and have several injury worries, with Luke Shaw being ruled out and doubts over Danny Welbeck, Antonio Valencia, Robin van Persie and Jonny Evans.
Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Angel di Maria, Juan Cuadrado and Arturo Vidal are the names linked closest to United. But even if the club would close any deal in the next 48 hours, it’s unlikely the new player would arrive in time to be registered and be ready to play.
It appeared initially that Ed Woodward would have a better transfer window than last summer, but during the last six weeks no new United player has come in.
The Red Devils have won all their pre-season friendlies under Louis van Gaal and will open the English Premier League campaign against Swansea on Saturday.
