LVG Not Nervous, Explains Rooney Captaincy

Manchester United boss, Louis Van Gaal, says he is not nervous for the side's season opener against Swansea City despite having nine players out through injury.
Van Gaal begins his reign against the Swans, but will be without nine players, which include new signing Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Johnny Evans and strikers Danny Welbeck and Robin Van Persie.
However, the 62-year-old believes all the travelling and double sessions could be the reason for the injuries and hinted youngster Reece James could play in the fullback position.
"After the World Cup, all the players are coming back at different moments and it is very difficult to train. We have the travel, jet-lag and a lot of matches in 14 days. Another reason is the amount of training sessions but we are doing half of what I have done with the other clubs so I cannot assume we have done that wrong," Van Gaal said at his press conference.
"We have played in the US with Reece James and Ashley Young in that position, so it is very well covered. I am very confident and I am not nervous. We have players injured and I am not nervous. We have beaten them all until now but tomorrow is the match that counts."
The former Dutch boss also revealed why he decided to make Wayne Rooney the club's new captain.
"He accepted the responsibility and I like him very much: how he trained and also how he performed in the games, how he performed to his fellow players," he added.
"On Tuesday, I said to him that maybe it is too much for him to be captain. But let it fly, I said, let it fly. In the US, he scored a lot of goals and made a great amount of assists. I want to see that Wayne."
