Fernando Llorente cannot wait to join Juventus next season.
The Spanish international striker has been desperate to quit Athletic Bilbao for over one year, but has been held to his contract by the Basque club.
However, Llorente’s contract expires at the end of the season, when he will be free to leave the San Mames.
The 27-year-old has already signed a pre-contract agreement to join the Italian champions for four years.
And while he says it will be sad for him to leave Bilbao, he is excited to play for The Old Lady in the Uefa Champions League- the top level club competition he has never quite managed to access with Athletic.
"It is not easy for me at the moment," Llorente said in a revealing interview with AS.
"Many people here are with me and love me but another part of me just wants to leave as quickly as possible.
"I had offers from many teams, but I really liked the Juve project. They have invested heavily in me from the start and have always been clear in their intentions. I've always enjoyed the competitive spirit of Italian teams and, for me, Juve are the biggest.
"The club are also trying to win the Champions League, which, for me, is the title that is the most exciting. They are a winning team, with the ambition to keep on winning. It excites me a lot."
