Liverpool See Off Bournemouth

Liverpool advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup as they beat AFC Bournemouth 2-0 at the Goldsands Stadium.

South African born Andrew Surman came close to opening the scoring for the home side, the midfielder managed to get on the end of Charlie Daniel's cross, but his header went just wide.  

Brad Jones was nearly embarrassed in the 12th minute when Mark Pugh's free kick nearly caught out the shot-stopper, who tipped the effort over the bar.

Another chance fell to the host in the 21st minute, as Mark Pugh's header goes just wide , following Matt Ritchie's corner.

Liverpool's first effort came in the 24th minute, as Steven Gerrard skied his free kick high and wide.

Victor Moses gave the visitors the lead just a minute later with a low driven effort, after being picked out by Luis Suarez.

Harry Arter tried his luck from range in the 30th minute but the midfielder's left-footed shot went inches wide.

Tommy Elphick saw his header fly just over the bar in the 35th minute after connecting with Surman's corner.

Jordan Henderson squandered a chance to extend Liverpool's lead 38th minute but the midfielder skied his effort high from the edge of the area.

Daniel Sturridge doubled Liverpool's lead in the 60th minute, the striker latched on to Suarez's through ball before comfortably slotting home.

Ritchie tried his luck from range in the 65th minute but he steered his effort high and wide.

Sturridge nearly extended Liverpool's lead in the 72nd minute with a delightful lob which was kept out by the upright.

Suarez missed a great chance to get visitor's third in the 76th minute but Uruguayan's lob flew just over the bar, following a long ball from Sturridge.

Substitute Tokelo Rantie tried to bring Bournemouth level in the 78th minute, but the South African's shot was blocked off by Martin Skrtel.

Brad Jones was called into action in the 89th minute this time denying Lewis Grabban from range in the 89th minute.
