Liverpool have reportedly entered the race for AS Monaco striker, Radamel Falcao.
The Reds are still eyeing another signing to fill the gap left by Luis Suarez and are understood to have made an enquiry for the Colombian.
However, Brendan Rodger’s side have been told the striker is heading to Real Madrid, as Manchester City are also monitoring the situation.
It seems the 28-year-old, who just returned from his serious knee injury, is determined to return to Madrid, where he spent two successful year’s with Real’s city rivals Atletico.
Monaco bought Falcao for £48 million last summer and are reportedly asking for a £12 million loan fee, along with Falcao’s £10 million per year wages.
Liverpool have so far been frustrated in their attempts to sign another forward after Loic Remy’s deal collapsed and Alexis Sanchez opted to join Arsenal.
Rodgers bought Rickie Lambert, who has been struggling in pre-season, but could be short of attacking options with Daniel Sturridge nursing a hamstring injury.
