Liverpool could still sign former FC Barcelona goalkeeper, Victor Valdes, who is currently a free agent.
Valdes was supposed to join Monaco but a serious knee injury has blocked his move to the Ligue 1 side.
The Reds had been linked with Valdes as competitor to Simon Mignolet in recent weeks but attentions were elsewhere during the transfer window.
However, according to English media Brendan Rodgers is still planning to bolster their ranks with signing Valdes, who is currently recovering from his injury.
Liverpool failed to replace Pepe Reina, who left the club to join Bayern Munich, during the transfer window and could still opt for Valdes, because free transfers are still allowed.
Valdes is a youth product of Barcelona's academy, La Masia, and played 528 games for the Catalan giants before leaving them this summer.
