Lewandowski: Will Give My All For BVB

Polish international, Robert Lewandowski, has finally signed his contract with Bayern Munich on Saturday.

What was initially reported by German newspaper BILD, was later confirmed by Lewandowski’s employer from 1 July 2014.

The 25-year-old Poland striker will see out the reminder of his contract with Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season and subsequently join the Bavarians on a free transfer.

“We are very pleased about completing this transfer,” stated Bayern chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, in an official club statement.

“Robert Lewandowski is one of the best strikers in the world.

"He will strengthen the Bayern squad and give us another boost.

"We are delighted both parties today [Saturday] signed a five-year contract until 2019.”

A day after he signed for Dortmund’s direct rivals, the BVB striker issued a statement to the Black and Yellow fans in which he pledged to give his all until the final match of the season: “There are still some goals we want to achieve.”

His full statement reads:

“Dear BVB fans, I would like to say a few words to you.

With half a year to go, there still some goals we want to achieve together. I hope you will support me, even if some of you don’t agree with my decision! I for one will give my all for BVB!”

Lewandowski initially wanted to leave Dortmund last summer already, but the club was not prepared to let him go despite a huge transfer fee being offered.

With 16 goals in all competitions this season, Dortmund chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke declared Lewandowski decision as dead right.

“He scores important goals for us and is a player, which we were not able to replace last summer,” Watzke told German media.

Can Lewandowski still focus on his job in Dortmund and will he score important goals against his new employer? Have your say in the comment section below.
