Bayern Munich skipper, Phillipp Lahm, is the latest of the club’s players to praise the impact Pep Guardiola has already made at the Allianz Arena.
The former Barcelona trophy vacuum has only been working at Bayern for a week, but already his players are lining up to sing his praises.
Guardiola has big shoes to fill, considering the man he replaced at Bayern snaffled up three major trophies himself last season.
But to a man, Bayern’s stars seem excited by the changes Guardiola has proposed to their working lives at the club, and they have all been impressed by the way he goes about his business.
"He is very communicative. He wants us to learn to understand him quickly,” Lahm told Merkur.
"You could see that there will be a lot of changes.
“The training was completely new to us from warm-up to stretching afterwards.
"Everybody is very attentive.
“Everybody has to prove himself anew at the beginning of a season, especially with a new coach."
Wing-backs were pivotal to the way Guardiola conquered Spain and Europe with Barca, and in Lahm he has one of football’s finest exponents of that position at his disposal.
How Guardiola deploys Lahm is just one of the intriguing aspects of his tenure at Bayern, and it appears the skipper is just as excited to find out as we are.
