Jurgen Klopp has extended his contract with Borussia Dortmund to 2018.
He had penned a new deal keeping him at the Westfalenstadion until 2016 just last season.
But in the interim, he has been linked to the manager’s job at a host of high profile European clubs.
However, Klopp has never been shy to express his passion for Dortmund. There he has built a dashing team in his own image, capable of challenging for honours at the highest level and entertaining while they’re at it.
As a result, Dortmund has made the tying down of their energetic, excitable and affable manager for the long-term a priority.
"He's the perfect coach for Dortmund," said the club's director of sport Michael Zorc, after Klopp penned his extension on Wednesday night.
"Since you should never separate that which belongs together, we've extended the contract of our head coach and his team once again," added the club's general manager, Hans-Joachim Watzke.
Klopp meanwhile, was characteristically effusive in his explanation of why he wants to stay at Dortmund for as long as they want him.
"We're all still just a little bit in love with this club and the way in which things are progressing here," he said.
