KG: Palace Not Relegation Fodder

Bafana Bafana star Kagisho Dikgacoi will be up against it this weekend, when he takes on high-flying Liverpool with his struggling Crystal Palace side.

The Eagles will flutter into Anfield mired in the relegation zone, and will face a Liverpool team intent on maintaining the form that sees them second on the Premier League log.

Most pundits have tipped Palace to make a quick return to the Championship at the end of the season.

But KG told the BBC that he and his team-mates believe that they can turn it around, and prove that they are not relegation fodder.

"The confidence is still there,” said Dikgacoi, who has already made headlines this season after his contentious sending off against Manchester United.

"No-one is letting their heads drop - despite the last few results - and we know that one match and one good result can make all the difference."

Ahead of Palace’s visit to Anfield, Dikgacoi has laid out the team’s ambition to climb out of the relegation zone by the time the season reaches its halfway point.

And even if they lose against the Reds, he insists there will no panicking just yet, in the context of the long and arduous EPL season.

"We always expected things to be tough in the Premier League because we are up against the best teams in the country - but we have time to turn things around," Dikgacoi said.

"Our aim is to be out of the relegation zone before January because we have a run of matches coming up where we can definitely pick up points."
