Manchester United target, Arturo Vidal, seems to be staying at Juventus. The central midfielder tweeted: “Ready to start the championship! We are 100% Juventus!!!!” It was rumoured that Manchester United would make one final push for the Chilean, but a transfer seems unlikely now.

Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with Radamel Falcao over a possible loan-move. Bayern Munich have struck one of the coups of the transfer window by signing Xabi Alonso from Real Madrid for an undisclosed fee rumoured to be around £8 million. Manchester United are reportedly close to offloading Tom Cleverley (Aston Villa, Everton or Valencia), Shinji Kagawa (BVB or Valencia) and Javier Hernandez (Juventus or Valencia) or Danny Welbeck (Tottenham) as Louis van Gaal tries to clean out his squad. Ivorian striker, Salomon Kalou, meanwhile, is on the verge of joining Hertha Berlin.
