Juventus ensured that they will remain at the top of the Serie A table this weekend after a comfortable 2-0 win over Fiorentina on Saturday.
The Bianconeri knew that a loss to Fiorentina would open the door for Napoli to close in but first-half goals from Mirko Vucinic and Alessandro Matri proved to be enough.
Stevan Jovetic had the first chance with a strike in the first 60 seconds bute Juve hit back with Claudio Marchisio placing a shot just wide.
The Old Lady then hit the front when Vucinic rifled a ferocious strike past the goalkeeper.
Juve would then double their advantage before the break when Matri got onto a pass from Vidal to fire home, and replays had shown that he had lost his boot before scoring.
Matri dragged a shot wide of the target while Mounir El Hamdaoui tested Gianluigi Buffon soon after.
The second-half proved to be a tough affair as both sides struggled to create chances.
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba tried some long-range strikes but never really troubled the Fiorentina goal.
The last chance of the game fell to Marchisio late on but he was unable to dig the ball out from under his feet to get a meaningful strike away as Juventus saw out a comfortable win.
