Fiorentina have announced that they have reached an agreement with Manchester City for the signing of Stevan Jovetic.
The player had been linked with a move to the Citizens for most of the summer and despite claims that there had been some late interest by United, Fiorentina have confirmed that the Sky Blues have won the race.
With Carlos Tevez having completed a move from the Etihad Stadium to Juventus, City were in the market for a striker and although it was announced that Alvaro Negredo was also en route to the former English Premier League champions, Jovetic will also be brought in to boost their attacking options.
The Serie A club announced the news on their official website, saying that all that was left was for the player to put pen to paper.
"An agreement has been reached with Manchester City Football Club for the permanent sale of the player Stevan Jovetic," Fiorentina added on their official Twitter account.
It is said that City had to fork out around GBP 26 million for the 23-year-old, who reportedly underwent medical tests on Monday.
The versatile forward has netted 35 goals in his five season with the club.
