Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho, has confirmed that the Blues are likely to offload one of their foreign players before the transfer window closes on Sunday night.
The Portuguese indicated he is not interested in signing another player, but due to Premier League registration rules he has the difficult decision to sell one foreign player.
"Our belief is the market is closed for us. We like our squad,” he told media in his pre-match press conference.
“Unfortunately we have to make a decision about one foreign player because of the rules.
“We have to sell one foreign player, but it’s such a difficult decision so we likely only make it in the last seconds.”
Petr Cech and Fernando Torres are the two names linked with Chelsea departures but Mourinho indicated Torres hasn’t spoken to him about a possible transfer.
"Torres didn't speak with me. We need three strikers to face the season. He is one of them. I like him,” he added.
"If Torres leaves, it is because he wants to be happier than he was here in the last couple of years.”
Chelsea face Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday and Mourinho is still hopeful Diego Costa can return to fitness for the clash against his former strikers, Romelu Lukaku and Samuel Eto’o.
