The fixtures will be the Azzurri's first since their 2018 World Cup play-off loss to Sweden in November, which confirmed that the Italians would not compete for the coveted trophy for the first time in six decades.

Italy will face Argentina in Manchester on Friday, 23 March, and then travel to London four days later to play England.

Here is the latest Italy squad in full, as confirmed via the Italian FA's official Twitter account:

Defenders: Leonardo Bonucci (AC Milan), Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), Matteo Darmian (Manchester United), Mattia De Sciglio (Juventus), Gian Marco Ferrari (Sampdoria), Alessandro Florenzi (Roma), Daniele Rugani (Juventus), Leonardo Spinazzola (Atalanta), Davide Zappacosta (Chelsea)

Midfielders: Giacomo Bonaventura (AC Milan), Bryan Cristante (Atalanta), Roberto Gagliardini (Inter Milan), Jorginho (Napoli), Marco Parolo (Lazio), Lorenzo Pellegrini (Roma), Marco Verratti (Paris Saint-Germain)

I really have nothing against Buffon but I really think that it's time for him to retire from international football now and give the likes of Donnaruma a chance. I mean like, Italy are in some sort of rebuilding phase so it's only fair for donnaruma to be an active member of that phase
