Juventus continued where they left off last season as the reigning league champions grabbed all three points with a 1-0 win against Chievo at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi on Saturday night.
A Cristiano Biraghi own goal proved to be the difference as Chievo failed to break through a solid Juventus defence.
The Bianconerri came out guns blazing, attacking from all angles, with a few shots blocked from just outside the box.
It was only a matter of time before they grabbed the lead, as early as the 7th minute, courtesy of a Cristiano Biraghi own goal.
Arturo Vidal hit the woodwork with a header in the 16th minute. Chievo were struggling against the Scudetto holders, as a Martin Caceres header also struck the bar in the 43rd minute.
Chievo had a better start to the second half after head coach, Eugenio Corini, made two substitutions at the halfway mark in an attempt to stabilize things. The Gialloblu, however, still could not break through a stubborn Juventus defence.
Chievo were forced into using their remaining substitution in the 69th minute as second half substitute, Ivan Radovanovic, had to be taken off due to injury.
Paul Pogba almost doubled the visitors' lead in the 90th minute but his shot was just wide.
The men from Turin will be happy with the three points as the match ended 1-0 in favour of Juventus.
