Isco Shines For Spain Under 21

The Spanish Under 21 team continued their slick form at the European Championships in Israel last night, beating Holland 3-0 to set up a semi-final against Norway.

La Furia Roja-lite have been a joy to watch in the tournament, with their star-studded line-up adhering to the possession based passing football that has made their seniors world and double European champions.

Three Spanish attackers scored on the night, with highly-rated Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata getting the show on the road.

Ascendant Manchester City target, Malaga ace Isco, slotted home Spain’s second, and Getafe striker Alvaro Vasquez made it three.

The defending champions will now face gritty Norway for a spot in the final next week.

"We are delighted to be in the semi-finals. It would show a lack of respect to say we prefer to play Norway,” Spain coach Julen Lopetegui said.

“Against a team as physically imposing as Norway it's something to take into account."

Despite defeat, sloppy much-changed Holland have already qualified for the last-four of the competition, and will face Italy for a place in the final.

It could be that Spain face Italy in the final in a repeat of the climax of Euro 2012, or Holland in a repeat of the 2010 World Cup final.

Suffice it to say it would come as a major shock if Isco and co are not present in the final in Jerusalem on 18 June.

Meanwhile, Germany beat Russia 2-1 last night in a battle of two eliminated teams.
