Result: France 2-0 Germany
Date: 13 November 2015
Venue: Stade de France
A goal in each half ensured France walked away as 2-0 winners against Germany in an international friendly played at the Stade de France on Friday evening.
Both sides had a rather conservative approach in the early exchanges, but after a few half-chances, France started to look more threatening and Paul Pogba came close with his 23rd minute effort. Ten minutes later Thomas Muller almost grabbed the game's opener with a fine strike that sailed just a bit too high, before Mario Gomez's 38th minute shot also just went wide of the mark.
After a couple of attacks, France were finally rewarded with an Olivier Giroud strike on the stroke of half-time, to ensure they headed into the break with the slender 1-0 lead.
The second stanza also started with a bit of conservative play from both sides, but as the half progressed, the defences looked to be determinied to keep the attackers at bay as both sides attempted to break through on goal unsuccessfully.
Andre-Pierre Gignacfinally rocked up in the dying moments of the encounter to seal the deal for France with an 85th minute strike that ensured they walked away with the 2-0 victory.
