England Cruise Past Peru
England started their World Cup preparations on a good note, as they comfortably saw off Peru 3-0 at Wembley Stadium on Friday night.
Goals from Daniel Sturridge, Gary Cahill and Phil Jagielka secured the win for Roy Hodgson's men, who are off to Miami to continue their preparations for the World Cup.
Daniel Sturridge should have opened the scoring with the game's first chance in the 19th minute as he fired wide from close range, after a surging run from Adam Lallana.
Sturridge made up for his earlier miss, as he gave England the lead with a delightful curling effort from the edge of the area.
Minutes before the halftime break, Joe Hart came to the home side's rescue as he got down well to deny Luis Ramírez from close range.
Jean Deza almost equalised for the visitors in the 53rd minute as his 35-yard strike flew just over the crossbar.
Gary Cahill doubled England's lead in the 65th minute, the Chelsea defender headed home Leighton Baines' corner.
Five minutes later and the home side increased their lead, as Phil Jagielka pounced on Fernandez's error to slot home from six-yards out.
The visitors failed to create any clear cut openings in the second half, as the Three Lions took their foot off the pedal in the latter stages.
