It is often said in football that no player is bigger than the team.
But Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are undeniably the giants of Paris Saint Germain, and the club will be on tenterhooks when the star duo meets to “discuss their future” at the club.
Brazilian international defender Silva has been linked to a big-money move to Barcelona, who are on the hunt for a world-class centre back.
Nobody knows what Ibra will decide to do next, and once the big Swede makes his mind up on something, he is unlikely to be stopped.
Ibra is on holiday, while Silva is about to contest the Confederations Cup with Brazil.
But both players will be watching happens to PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti closely during the off-season.
It is thought that Silva and Ibra view their own careers at PSG somewhat in light of Ancelotti’s status there.
And Silva admits that when they have the time, he and Ibra will have a pow-wow regarding their own futures at the Parc des Princes.
"We haven't spoken a lot since the end of the season,” the PSG skipper told Sky Italia.
“He's on holiday, and I call him less because he needs to rest. But I speak a lot to him.
“We're certainly going to speak about our future because it's something which is very important for us."
It is still possible that the heavyweights will be at PSG when next season gets underway.
But Silva’s comments are the clearest indication yet that he and Ibra do consider leaving Paris an option.
