Borussia Dortmund are steadily nearing full strength ahead of the Champions League final on Saturday.
Last week the club doctor confirmed that superstar in-the-making, Mario Gotze, should recover from his thigh injury in time for the game.
And today the club has released the news that defender Matts Hummels is also winning his fitness race.
German international Hummels picked up an ankle injury during Dortmund’s weekend Bundesliga defeat to Hoffenheim, but the damage is not so severe as to rule him out of Saturday’s mouth-watering clash against Bayern Munich at Wembley.
"His [Hummel’s] participation in the Champions League final on Saturday in London is absolutely realistic," Dortmund team doctor Markus Braun said in a club statement.
Dortmund have failed to beat Bayern four times this season, and even with their best players in tow, they will surely start as underdogs against the merciless Bavarian giants.
However, just like Atletico Madrid proved against their city rivals Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final last Friday night, history counts for nothing in a winner-takes-all trophy showdown.
