History Made In Latest FIFA Rankings

For the first time ever, two nations share the top spot in the latest FIFA rankings, while Germany and Argentina are still outside the top 10. 

Click through the gallery above to see the top 10 ranked national teams, according to FIFA.

The September FIFA ranking is the second set calculated with the new formula, explained in detail in last month's rankings.

2018 FIFA World Cup winners France remain on the same number of points at the top, but, for the first time in history, a national team – Belgium – shares first place with Les Bleus.

Brazil remain in third place, while Croatia are still fourth. South American nation Uruguay kept their spot in fifth, followed by England in sixth.

2014 World Cup winners Germany have jumped up three places to 12th, while Argentina remain outside of the top 10 in 11th place.

Tunisia is still the highest-ranked African country, while Bafana Bafana are 73d in the latest ranking.
