Arsenal took control of Group F in the UEFA Champions League as they secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Napoli at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.
The goals came early for the home side but they were largely the better side throughout the game and never seemed to be troubled by the Italians who were toothless in attack.
Napoli were dealt a blow with the news that Gonzalo Higuain would not feature for the Italians on the night due to injury, with Goran Pandev coming in as the lone striker.
The Gunners, though, came into the game in sensational form and took just eight minutes to open their opponents up. Aaron Ramsey stormed down the flank before slapping in a low cross which Mesut Ozil buried with a sublime left-footed shot - his first goal in Arsenal colours.
The hosts continued to dominate proceedings early on and a second goal was not far off as Ozil turned from scorer to provider as his cutback was gratefully gobbled up by Olivier Giroud.
Napoli looked to find a way back into the game but were still struggling for chances as Callejon fired well over the crossbar in the 27th minute.
Arsenal continued to search for more goals after the break and a half-chance three minutes in saw Tomas Rosicky fail to finish off a pass from Giroud.
Napoli were still unable to create much going forward and Arsenal were denied a third by a superb save from Pepe Reina after Laurent Koscielny had volleyed goalward off of a flick from Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners strolled through the final few minutes with Napoli chasing the ball for the most part as they claimed all three points to move clear at the top of the group.
