Giorgio Chiellini has told Italian media that he still believes Luis Suarez’s ban for biting him in the World Cup is excessive.
The Italian defender has shown support for the Uruguayan attacker and is not holding any grudges against him for what occurred in the infamous incident.
“I said at the time that I thought the ban was excessive and I hope it can be reduced,” the Juventus defender told the press in Italy.
“But these aren’t decisions that are down to me.
“Now inside me there's no feelings of joy, revenge or anger against Suarez for an incident that happened on the pitch and that's done.”
Chiellini is set to appear in court to testify in Suarez’s appeal against the four-month ban in the Court of Sports Arbitration hearing on the 08 August.
